7 Thunders is
a ministry that began on October 3rd 1999. On that day the Bennett
family got an urgent call to respond to Amos 9:11. The call was
followed by 6 other thunderous prophetic words and 20 other prophetic
tokens all of which confirmed that Kirk and his family were to help in
the rebuilding of the tabernacle of David through a prayer work in
Kansas City and throughout the earth.
The Bennett family knew that this meant freeing up as much ministry
time as possible to participate in the priestly ministry of
intercessory worship unto God. They then spent 6 months seeking and
getting further confirmation on what they were to do and how they were
to do it. Kirk was given 3 ‘foundation stones’ by the Lord
to build this new ministry upon. These foundation stones are as follows:
I. Minister to the Lord - Psalm 27:4
One thing I have desired of the LORD, that will I seek: that I may
dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the
beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.
It is clear that ministering to the Lord is the single most important
aspect to the tabernacle of David. It is therefore the most important
activity in the 7 Thunders ministry. Nothing can replace the call to
praise and worship God continuously from the heart.
A. Behold His beauty - Simply put to gaze on God, in the scripture, prayer and worship.
B. Inquiring in His temple - Asking God to reveal His heart to the church.
II. Go to the Nations- Isaiah 61:1-3
"The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, because the LORD has anointed
Me to preach good tidings to the poor; he has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of
the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of
the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who
mourn, To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for
ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the
spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
7 Thunders will be a traveling and preaching ministry that ministers to the poor in many different cities in the earth.
A. Preach in the nations - We are called to preach teach and train for the raising up of Houses of Prayer.
B. Minister to the poor - God’s heart moves in extravagant love and compassion for the poor.
III. Reproduce the priesthood - II Tim 2:2
And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit
these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
7 Thunders will have to impart and reproduce the priestly ministry to have God’s desired impact in the earth.
A. Train prophets - All
believers have an identity as priests before the Lord. God’s
desire is for a kingdom of priests who prophesy.By prophet we mean the
function and not a title or platform.
B. Train intercessory missionaries - those who live a simple lifestyle commited to prayer for the cities of the earth.
C. Train in the Harp and Bowl Prayer Model - Worship and intercession in one flow before God.
Revelation
5:8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the
twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and
golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.
