Trip
7 Thunders
just got back on Monday night from a ministry trip to Whitefish, MT where
we ministered at a church located in the valley between the rocky mountain
range. The team was
Kirk Bennett
,
Jordan Johnson
,
Courtney Arrington
, Rebekah Myers, and I. This
valley was about 70 miles on every side from the nearest mountain though
we could see mountains on every side of us. On one of our long breaks on
Sunday the team took a trip up some of the mountains in
Glacier
Park
and, well, I don’t really
have words to describe it. It was a phenomenal sight to which I am still
in awe of. The height that we were at, the view, the things I have never
seen before, everything was awesome and truly showed me a glimpse of the
beauty of the One who created it all. After we got to the “top” we
went from a hike to one of the glacier waterfalls where the water was
clear and we could see to the bottom. It was so beautiful and I would’ve
never expected it to be so relaxing to hear the water fall upon the rocks
and sit there with the cool breeze.
Our team
had the opportunity to teach some of the members of the church, made up of
1/3 young people and the 2/3 older, how to move in prophecy in order to
minister to around 50 people. Many people were blown away with
confirmation, the heart of God shown through the people, and the
encouragement found in the ministry. We always teach people who are
desiring to move in prophecy that 1) prophecy isn’t about prophecy
because it is about Jesus. If the people walk away wanting to worship Him
and loving Him more, we have done our job. 2) Anyone who has the Holy
Spirit living inside of them can prophesy. It is not a gift reserved only
for an elect group of people but it is a gift for all. (1 Cor. 14:1)
The fun
and new part of this trip was the releasing of our vein of passion that
our team has been working on individually. If was fun and encouraging
hearing each of our team shares what they had burning on their hearts.
This isn’t totally new because we have done it before but it’s new in
the fact that it was planned. The last night of the conference, Sunday
night, Bekah and I released our vein together in a tag team way. Where one
of us would preach then the other picked it up and we went back and forth
this way for about an hour. We preached on the need to hunger and thirst
after God, to become abandoned to the way of the world and the love of
other things besides Him, and realize our depravity apart from Him filling
us up with Him presence. That the desire and thirsting after God that He
desires to found in us is what allows us to receive more of Him. If we can
live without it, we will and He will let us. This same desire He longs to
be in us is the same thing the Son does for us, He thirsts and desires for
us to be with Him where He is. (John 17:24) Many people were encouraged to
know that their hunger and longing for God was not in vain and that it was
a fragrance before God.
“As the deer pants for the
water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God,
for the living God.”
Ps. 42:1-2
Furnace
Prayer Team
The
furnace prayer team after 18 weeks of meditating on Psalm 24 has now come
to a close. As a group we are now moving onto Daniel 7. It is so
interesting how a chapter or a verse can become a part of who you are.
Our
meditation group would agree that this chapter has become alive in us and
is something living inside us. The Bible says that the Word is alive and
active and since we have been in this for so long we can testify to the
truth of it. We have also found the truth of the Word is deeper than it is
wide and it Jesus was truly the Word made flesh. He is to be encountered
and found abiding in us as we search the scriptures. As we take time to
study and meditate it will be like life to us and filling the deep void
within us that was made for God alone It’s funny because now that we are
heading into Daniel 7 we are seeing it through the lens of Ps. 24.
Everything is like, well Daniel must have had clean hands and a pure heart
and he was preparing a way for the King of Glory to come (as seen in Ps.
24).
