Traveling Tales

Ashley, Alicia, Jonathan, and Katie and Kirk went to the
Chicago area December 18-21. This Northland
trip was God’s strategy to connect hearts and build lifetime relationships
that will transform cities all over the earth. God
is about to release bold prophetic voices in the north Midwest.

• In Chicago at The Furnace (with Marvin and Sally Adams), Furnace interns were challenged to “blaze” and open their hearts to deeper revelation.
• At Forest City Church (Rockford, IL) the Lord began to remove the generational gaps between the young and the older! (Malachi 4)
• At “The Barn” (Beloit, WI), Ashley Kershner led a “barn burner” worship set with Kirk speaking on apostolic love fueled by intimacy with God that lets Christ’s love flow through us to others. Many were touched by the team’s unique anointing.
• With Todd Edwards (Milwaukee, WI), who coordinated our whole trip. Katie Bennett spoke on the fire of God and living for Him and nothing else. It was a gripping message that challenged us to move closer to God’s heart.
January 8 and 9, 7 Thunders launched another prophecy team and nine from Omaha were “blown away by the team’s love and accuracy.” On Friday, the group from Omaha attended a prophetic seminar where Nadia, an IHOP team member, shared her testimony. Many of these ministry leaders, such as a Director from Aglow, were touched by the heart of God and blessed by the team’s ministry.
In Cedar Rapids, Iowa, (January 15-18) amazing breakthrough took place. We heard, “We never experienced a weekend like this before,” “Now I see my identity as a priest who can prophesy,” and “When are you coming back?” The last night, Kirk took an offering for the poor of the city.
• 150 people gave over $20,000 in cash and checks!
• People gave the clothes off their backs! One woman gave the cane she has to have in order to walk, and a 30-year old man with cerebral palsy gave his only winter coat. Kids gave their crayons and matchbox cars.
• The people wept before the Lord. “Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble. The Lord will preserve him and keep him alive. And he will be blessed on the earth; You will not deliver him to the will of his enemies. The Lord will strengthen him on his bed of illness; You will sustain him on his sickbed.” (Psalm 41:1-3
NKJV)
Next month, we’ll tell you about our trips to Cleveland (1/29-2/1), Atlanta (2/6-8) and Indianapolis (2/20-23). Also coming are trips to Waukaway Springs, Mississippi (3/11-13) and Bolivia (3/14-22). Please continue to pray as we travel. Thanks!
Prayer Points
• Travel mercies as we tell of the glad God Who loves to talk to His kids!
• Isaac Bennett, Kirk and Dee’s oldest child, joined the IHOP Internship program! This is a great for Isaac, but Mom and Dad are missing him. Pray for Isaac’s provision as he tries out his wings and for Kirk and Dee in this new phase. J
• Our offices are now in The Contemplative Cave (the garage in back of the Bennett’s house)! May this be a place where the Spirit loves to meet us!

• Continued provision for finishing The Cave.
• Continued financial provision for the Bennett Family & 7 Thunders team. We need more monthly supporters. Are you interested? We also need funds for special projects like travel to poorer nations that are crying out for teams to come.
A Few Last Thoughts
In the parable of the Ten Virgins (Matthew 25:1-13), the five who kept oil for their lamps were called wise by Jesus. Do you want to live wisely and be found ready? Get an Oil change or an Oil fill! Courtney and Heidi share how to “get greased”:
• Add music to your prayer times. Listen to music as you meditate on scripture. Sing scriptures to the Lord with music you make up. (You won’t fall asleep!)
• Keep a prayer journal. Don’t like to write a lot of words or don’t have time? Then draw pictures! (Yes, stick figures “count”!)
• Don’t stop talking ...but don’t forget to stop and listen. “Real prayer” is for real life. Do it everywhere in every way – whether washing dishes or driving to work. Just keep it going. Listen, too. He’s got cool stuff to tell you!
However you do it, Get oil!
