7 Thunders Newsletter
October, 2005
Jackson, Mississippi

From September 12-16, the team sieged an abortion clinic in Jackson , Mississippi . The first four days were a stretch as we stood in 100 degree weather with sweat rolling off our bodies as we faced this building. But it was so much more than a building. It was the spirit of death. The Jackson Women’s Health Clinic is the last abortion clinic in the state of Mississippi . As we partnered with Pro-Life Mississippi, an organization which has working in Jackson for many years shutting down various clinics in years past, we labored in prayer for the last clinic to be shut down.

Joseph T. Booker, the abortionist at this certain clinic had performed a botched abortion on one of the women that came in. And for this reason the woman has filed suit against him. If he is convicted, the clinic may very well be shut down. While we were in Jackson , we had the opportunity to meet the lawyer who is charge of the case, Mr. Joe Ragland. Mr. Ragland’s law office is down the street from the clinic, and because so, he was delighted for us to come and pray in a small prayer room that he has in his office. Even after we have returned to KC, he has called many times and asked if we would come back and pray with him. He testifies that as we prayed, he was given clarity from God on various different subjects concerning the case. We really do believe that prayer is going to change this. 2 days after we left to go home, 9 babies were saved at the clinic. We believe this is evidence that God answers prayers.

On the fifth day of our siege, it rained all day long. Although it was miserable, cold and wet, it was most glorious. Being able to stand with God in what wasn’t very fun or comfortable. Being able to identify with His heart was amazing. We even had some refugees from the Hurricane Katrina come and stand with us. How awesome that these who have lost everything would come and believe that even in the midst of their own suffering and loss, that God answers prayer. Knowing that abortion is wrong and standing with us against the spirit of death while it poured down rain. God is so good and He redeems all things for good.

From here on through the next year, we have some ministry trips planned to various cities throughout the U.S. and some may be overseas in the spring. God has really placed on our hearts in a new way the priesthood and how important it is in our day and time. Its not anything different than we’ve been doing, but God has been awakening my heart with a desire to raise up this young generation into the understanding of being a priest before God.  As I watch my generation who is taken with drugs and alcohol, I long to see a new generation coming who is taken by the beauty of God. Where they can’t do anything else but worship Him. And this is the vision of 7 Thunders. To raise up a generation to worship, pray and prophesy.

 Prayer Requests:

      * The 7 Thunders staff  – Luke Ahrenholtz, Courtney Arrington, Katie Bennett, Andy and Bek Hickman, Rebekah Myers, Mercy Falkner, and the siege teams. That the Spirit of Grace and supplication would continue in them to pray and prophesy; especially as they have just returned from this month-long siege.

     * Katie – Is carrying the sound of the Life Movement in her worship leadership.

     * The Bennett’s - Pray for the health and well-being of our family, our finances, and understanding in our lives.

     * Pray the 22 word Prayer 7 times daily – Jesus, I plead your blood over my sins and the sins of my nation, God end abortion and send revival to America !
