Devotion:
Hebrews 3:1 (NKJV)
“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling,
consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus.”
Many times when we read verses like this, our minds seek
to just ponder the main points or what we perceive to be the main points and
then move on. I found myself recently 'stuck' in the word consider. What if
I took time to CONSIDER the Apostle or to CONSIDER the High Priest. I found
myself asking what would it mean to consider Him in that way? What thoughts
would I have? Would I evaluate who He is differently? Would I evaluate who I
am and what I am doing differently? I locked in for three to four hours of
time and began to consider. I was amazed to find understandings that I had
never thought. Who would have thought that one word could shape and change
your thinking? Transformed by beholding-- what a mystery!
What's Up?
This year has been a real year of traveling and “stretching our tent pegs” here at Seven Thunders. We’ve just recently returned from a 13 day trip in August to the beautiful country of New Zealand. We received a wonderful Maori blessing at the airport upon our arrival, and our hosts blessed us each with a “green stone” necklace, which is very precious to New Zealanders.
What did we do while we were there? We did what we love to do – we ministered the “glad heart of our glad God” to pastors, leaders, laypeople (and
even shepherds!) from Aukland to Mata Mata and on into Wellington. We ministered through Harp and Bowl Prophetic Breakthrough conferences, and the Lord showed up and did miraculous things in the hearts and lives of those we ministered to! One person reported that they were healed of asthma after receiving prayer!
Speaking of miracles – on our recent weekend trip to Littlestown, Pennsylvania, a child’s broken arm was healed after receiving prayer at one of our meetings! Keep on praying, people!
What's Coming
Next? September 24 through October 11 found us in South Africa. November
will be a month of R&R and refocusing on the house of prayer. Then the Windy City welcomes us for a few days in December.
Hey, Thanks! This is a great time for me to take a minute to thank all of you who partner with us in prayer and keep us before the throne of God when we travel. I know many of you wish you could travel to the places we do (I know, because you’ve told me so!) but please know that by your prayers, you make our travel and ministry not only possible but fruitful as well, and you share in the same harvest we do because of your partnership with us. Thank you so much for the sacrifice of your time when you pray for us! May the Lord bless you for your labors!
Here at Home: On the home front, the Bennett family has recently moved to a home closer to the International House of Prayer, and we are converting our garage into offices for Seven Thunders. Wanna come help? Bring your dust masks!
The Bennett family, being the fiery intercessors that they are, LOVE to eat salsa with everything! To keep them happy, Dee (Kirk’s wife) makes about 2 batches a week. We thought you might like to try her recipe.
Dee’s Salsa:
2 cans stewed tomatoes
1 onion, chopped
3 heaping T. of jalapeno peppers, chopped
3 T. lime juice
3 heaping T. cilantro
Mix all together in blender. Store in refrigerator. Eat with everything.
